NFL draft
Watching the draft and realizing, with college athletics and portal being what they are, we’ll never have a Flash getting drafted again. Last Flashes drafted were both 3rd rounders, Brian Winters in 2013 and Dri Archer in 2014.

You could be right. Once players see they have the ability to be drafted, they will likely enter the portal.

Another UDFA signing; a total of three signing NFL contracts and a ton of transfers out, how did we end up 5-7 last year?!?

That team could have easily been 7-5 - had a decent lead in several games and let them slip away. EMU game Schlee got hurt and no more offense. Schlee also missed Akron game and parts of other games. Then you have our top receiver quit playing. 03-banghead

And Schlee laying up on a couple important plays instead of fighting for the first. Gotta stay healthy to protect “your brand” while you get in the portal for some of that NIL $$.

A little Saint Ignatius connection there with Dave Ragone on staff. Best of luck to the kicker!

RE: NFL draft
Ah yes. The kicker that put his body on the line to recover an on sides kick for a 3-6 team. That eventually started a 4 game winning streak ending in the program's only bowl win. As opposed to the QB who decided to go feet first to avoid contact on a crucial 4th down for a 3-5 team, resulting in a loss and eventually the team missing a bowl game.

Not all transfer portal entries are remembered the same.

True - but I wished he would have stayed - could have won a few more games with more reliable kicker - with Lewis' offense he may have set a school or MAC record as well.

Odd to give a 3-year deal to a kicker that will back up a Pro Bowler who recently signed a 5 year deal.

Ah one of the great examples of journalism today. Report a thing that happened then just put a bunch of tweets from randos reacting to it. We live in the golden age of journalism.

When i think about how much the news media has declined over my lifetime I can almost cry.
